I'm not sure how this was added as a pale ale when this can and the brewery describes this beer as a "Rustic Lager"
Batch # only on the bottom.
City-scape Can Art is the result of accidental boiling of film before developing and the beer, apparently an homage to the photographer and other "Wonder Projects".
Ok so the beer pours a pretty yellow-amber, slightly unfiltered haze obscures any carb bubbles but it sports a tall, white head of very creamy foam that draped the goblet and had tenacious retention.
Aroma is light and clean, hints of lemon and hop spice with underlying notes of white sugar and lightly toasted grain.
The flavor seems exceptionally balanced up front - light plus+ feel with a mild honey sweetness and subtle, grassy hop flavor, moderate carbonation.
The complexity builds as it warms up, tart hop flavors push through with lemon and grape skin acidity.
Citrus notes explode when the glass is swirled, malt depth seems to get a bit overwhelmed but hangs in on the fringes for some balance
Body is light ++ but weirdly doesn't get heavier as it warms.
Clean, sharp, hoppy finish.
Clean at the start and finish, Rustic in the middle.
