On tap at Crossroads Brewing.
A: Deep black with a finger of mocha head that dissipates quickly.
S: Roasted malt, bakers chocolate and hints of caramel. Light pine and citrus notes.
T: Roasty, chocolaty and mildly bitter. Nicely balanced, but personally I could use more bitterness. Solid.
M: Nice and creamy with medium carbonation. Just right.
O: A solid example of a style that's growing in popularity.

Got a growler filled at Westmere Beverage in Guilderland on 5/6/12.
A: Poured from the growler into a pint glass. Body is black with a half-finger light-brown head that settles pretty quickly.
S: Nice. Chocolatey malt with a touch of roasted barley and earthy hops.
T: More roasty than the usual ABA - this one resides in that grey area between an ABA and a hoppy Porter. Chocolate malt is there, but the roasted flavors provide the bulk of the malt bill. Finishes with a drying bitterness that ramps up the roastiness a little bit too - at least as it lingers in the aftertaste at the back of the mouth.
M: Medium in heft. Carbonation is modest, giving it a slightly creamy feel.
O: Good stuff. I tend to like my ABAs a little stronger on the chocolatey profile and hops that add a little more flavor, but this is good stuff.
