it was amazing to check this place out finally, it has been on my radar ever since the thai restaurant that was also a brewery won a medal for 2x4 at gabf way back in the day before anyone had ever heard of them, before melvin was a thing, pretty cool evolution they have had since then, but going to the point of origin was somewhat of a pilgrimage, and it was a lot of fun. they have a line out the door here before they even open, people standing in the rain and all, its right down town, which apparently is always popping. a little bigger inside than it looks from the outside, a big dining room area on one side, a long and spacious and funky bar on the other side with some high tops over there too, and some patio seating as well, immediately bustling when they opened their doors. its a neat spot, low lights, kung fu movies playing, some of the neat original melvin characters on the walls, an open kitchen, exciting and exotic smells happening, we got bar seats and settled in. the beer list was really underwhelming, i think they were having trouble with a cooler or with glycol or something, but they may have only had five or six of their own beers on, a couple of highly relevant guest taps too, but i expected way more. its cool they are still brewing here though, and they had some new to me recipes on, so i was all set. the food was very good, not amazing by thailand standards, but probably better than a lot of others, maybe especially in wyoming, but you can find better thai food. its homemade and generously portioned and good, but its more just neat to pair the thai with the brewery, the curry i had was great, my wife loved her soup, all good. i had a really great english dark mild, a yuzu berliner, and a sturdy amber, all were excellent and new to me. the bartender was fine, a little flustered but he did okay. service in general was good. it was a novel experience to eat and drink in here, cool to check out the modest beginnings of one of the best regional breweries in the game right now, and one of the cooler spots in jackson really, nothing quite like it. a trip to jackson would not be complete without a visit here!

Combination Thai restaurant and brewery tap room. Nice smells from the kitchen blend with some excellent beers. Food prices high, but normal for the area.

Pretty nice hangout overall. Melvin beers are generally of good quality from what I've had, and it was cool to get some that you can't get elsewhere. The bartender was nice, service was super quick. As far as vibe, I mean it's kind of divey in a good way, and I like the two TVs playing two different classic Kung Fu films. But the annoying gangsta rap pounding my ears I definitely could've done without. Usually I don't care about the music in a venue, but I just don't get why they were playing this off the wall and totally inappropriate crap in an otherwise cool place like this. Are they trying to be badass or something? Some punk rock or good old 80s metal would've fit the place like a glove. The food was pretty good. I'm not a Thai aficionado, so I don't really have a baseline of comparison. I got a couple small plates, which were not bad for the happy hour price. It's a no-brainer to visit Melvin if you're in town.

Vibe: Your standard ski/mountain town restaurant...but with a rotating list of amazing Melvin beers.
Quality: Melvin. Need I say more?
Service: Pretty great actually. Every server knew the food menu well, and beers even better.
Selection: Outstanding. If Melvin is your jam, this spot has what you know and love, and about eight more taps you've likely never had (or maybe even knew existed).
Food: Great Thai food.

We visited no fewer than three times last visit to Jackson. Highly recommend this spot. Very welcoming, and the beer is wonderful of course.

This was a fun place to visit. Came in for some Thai food and of course some beer. However the food was way overpriced and okay (little too spicy but good if you like the heat). During my last visit there, we had exceptional service. They did messed up our order and fixed it immediately and our waiter offered a free beer. Regardless of the food, I was happing drinking the beer from Melvin brewing. Such good stuff. Plus, check out the mens restroom. I have to say its.....interesting.

Thai Me Up/Melvin Brewing is modest in size with seating area for food accounting for 90% of the space and the remaining for bar area. Arrived at 6:30pm and the place was packed with locals and out-of-towers like myself. I did not eat choosing to go to the bar area which was also packed.

Bar itself seats approx. 20 people and there are two, four and six high top "communal" seating that will accommodate approx. 30 more; standing room is highly likely. I ordered from the bar and received a great pour of Coffee Ruckus. Beer list is on a digitized screen behind the bar and very easy to see. There were about 15 beers on tap; each displayed by name, style, ABV, IBU, size of pour (eg. 12oz) and price.

Awards and medals are prominently displayed including the 2014 World Beer Cup Gold for their 2x4 IPA and 2015 GABF Small Brewpub of the Year! Sadly the 2x4 IPA was not available so I had Brosaic, a DIPA.

If in Jackson, Wyoming this is a must do for brew!!

Great service and Thai/Asian flare in food choices with a brewer's list indicating new batch for fresh tasters' choices. My rating is best of the best.*****

Spectacular food and fantastic beer and beer selection. 2x4 is world class and is up there with the best double IPAs out there. Very cool people and awesome scene.

I also walked out with a growler of their pale ale. It was great also. I highly recommend anyone that is in Jackson to head here before Snake River.

My only word of caution is that the food is spicy. Great for me, but if spice is not your thing you may want to skip it or be careful what you order.

Awesome beers. Skip Snake River and come here if you only have one shot. Food portions are skimpy but the beers are incredible - their own and the guest breweries'.

I've been here a couple times now and it keeps getting better. The beer is fantastic and they have specials, like $3 pints. The food is unique and very good. The staff is fun and friendly. Also, I love the kung-fu movies playing above the bar.

This was stop #37 for my wife and I on a 21-day pub-crawl from Michigan to N. CA and OR. We stopped here on a Wednesday evening to enjoy their beers. Actually we were beer’ed out from a long day, so we ordered only two beers to cap off the day. We had been told by a person at another brewery where we had visited earlier that day, that this brewery had some killer IPAs, so we focused on the task of trying beers in only that style. (There were 20 beers on tap.)

The building structure is rustic Jackson Hole-style from the exterior, but has very modern-style finishes on the interior, so the vibe was lacking a bit for a ‘pub’ setting. But this is primarily a Thai restaurant, and the two beers that we ordered more than made up for it. There were two double IPAs on tap and we ordered both. Both lived up to the billing that we had been told about excellent IPAs, and we enjoyed both of them.

We didn’t even look at the food menu (thus no food is included in this review) but it sure smelled great in this place, so we’d definitely make a return trip here if we are ever in town again.

Great place. Went there three times in three days and ate dinner there one of the nights. Spicy drunken noodles were good but the Pad Thai was the best I ever had. They were also having a $10 special with all beers $2.50 since they were closing for three weeks the next day to remodel.

Was able to have two growlers worth of 2x4 which was just incredible. Also had a growler of their wet hop beer, Mos Def which was also exceptional. The biggest treat was talking to Kirk that last night. He showed me and my brother-in-law the setup and we also got to sample 5oz of Melvin straight from the fermenter. His staff are all equally as nice.

As this place gets more and more known, I hope they'll be able to expand to meet the need. We were there in the off season and it was a madhouse. I can't imagine the volume they'll see come ski season.

Loved this place! Went on October 18 2013,a Friday evening. Seated right away, nice and friendly like. Great waitress,my wife has issues with certain peppers and was not sure about a sauce that was on a dish she wanted, they brought her a sample,it was too spicy and they made the dish without the sauce and she loved it! I had spicy shrimp noodles that were outstanding,at least. Killer egg rolls and we both took half our dinners with us,big enough we could have split one. They only have their beers on tap,all made right there in the restaurant. I had 4 of them and every one was just amazing, including 2 DIPA'S that have won awards. Very, very small batches of beer made, only in kegs and I don't know if you can even get it outside their restaurant anywhere. If you ever go to Jackson Wyoming and do yourself a favor and have dinner and some beers there, can't wait to go next time we are there...We felt the bang for the buck was reasonable for sure.

I was not sure what to expect from a brewpub/thai resturant, but the beer list looked pretty good so we said what the heck.

As you enter one side of the place is a sit down thai place, the other sdie is a bar and there are high top tables in between.

The house beers were good, but the NB Le Terrior on tap was a winner. the bottle list was pretty good, they even had the Abyss for $20.

The service was prompt, attentive and acutually pleasant.

The food was creative, well prepared and downright tasty. I you go during happy hour like we did the specials are very reasonable.

This is not your typical brewpub, more like a beer bar. Well worth the visit if for nothing more than a great beer list.
