Had the pleasure of trying this tonight at the new location in Scarborough, just down the street from their old location near the Maine Mall.
This is part of their Single Batch Series, this beer was only served at the new Scarborough location with very limited amounts made. According to their website it was aged in 7 year old bourbon barrels for 8 months.
Pours a dark amber color with a thin wispy head that fades fast and leaves no lacing.
Smell is rather tame, light caramel malt aroma, not picking up much of the vanilla or bourbon I would have imagined from the barrel aging.
Taste is not all that different from the regular Slick Nick except for a slight vanilla presence and some very mild woodiness, for being in barrels for 8 months I would have imagined a bigger impact, as is the barrel aging isn't as noticeable as I've found in other beers.
A decent beer, but I couldn't help but think that it was a bit thin.
