On-tap 2/12/2013 at Track 84 in Warwick, RI, served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a deep black color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains floral hops, roasted malts, chocolate and citrus.

T: The taste starts with a hearty roasted malt character that is quickly followed by sweet flavors of chocolate and citrus. Then a strong but not over-powering hops presence comes in and creates a good balance for the style. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.

O: Very tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, very good representation of style, this is an excellent beer to drink for a long time if you’re in the mood for the style.

A solid black brown color with a fair light brown head and decent lacing. The aroma brings a nice chocolate malt and pine hop blend with a touch of nuttiness. The flavor is a pretty bold pine-malt sweetness with a slight charcoal and chocolate complement. Charcoal gets the edge here and finishes with a dry, bitter dominance. This beauty is easily medium bodied but a sparse, tingly carbonation makes this an easy drinking, somewhat chalky feeling black IPA. Very nice, one of the better Sebago brews I've had the pleasure of trying!
