Poured a deep reddish brown body with one finger of beautiful tan head. Quite the good looking beer. Scents of moderate, wild, funky Brett yeast, notes of sour red berries, moderate notes of red wine and oak, moderate-low earthiness and hints of vanilla and chocolate. Overall impression is of an interestingly wild, sour, yet red wine-like aroma, very unique for a Dubbel. Very complex and quite nice. Flavor begins with notes of oak, and hints of red wine and tannins, mingling with flavors of bittersweet chocolate and dark fruit and a nice, light level of wild funk. This moves into middle with a slightly higher level of sour funk, a bit of red wine and oak, moderate vanilla flavors alongside bittersweet chocolate. Finish is medium-dry with notes of oak, vanilla, bittersweet chocolate, dark fruit, a modest level of yeasty funk and a light level of alcohol. Aftertaste is vanilla, oak, dark fruit and bittersweet chocolate. Overall impression of taste is of a nice core Dubbel, enhanced in complexity by the red wine barrel and wild yeast. Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied with medium-light carbonation and semi-drying feel. Overall impression is of a wonderful Dubbel, that is aided by the red wine barrel aging and the addition of wild yeast. It adds a depth and complexity to the aroma and flavor of an already deep and complex style. Very highly recommended.

Named after the greatest song ever written, how could I not give this a try...even if I wasnt a fan of the base beer. This one is Son of Nothing aged in Red Wine Barrels with some lacto.

Pours dark red with a slight off white head. Aroma is a bit sweet and acidic; some dark cherries, with a slight touch of vinger, and the red wine barrels. Flavor is just the ever so slightest bit tart, with a little vinager presence, red wine and its barrels, and a hint of chocolate essence trying to show itself, but quickly transistioning into a sweet maraschino cherry finish. This one is definitely on the sweeter side of things. A medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, nothing special here but definitely much better than the base beer it originated as. I could drink this again...though probably won't.
