Golden, pale straw, slight fizzy head, carbonation streams

Sour and wheat-tinged passionfruit, borders on lemon-lime and guava.

Fizzy, slightly drying. Pretty smooth for a sour. Good carbonation

Crisp and refreshing, fit for a summer eve

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of passionfruit, tart lemon and wheat. Very tart up front with passionfruit and some sweet caramel.

Going beyond the traditional "mit schuss" of Berlin, the brewer of Funkwerks takes that fruit forward approach to the tropical side of taste with passionfruit cleverly tucked inside a kettle soured ale for a succulent tang to go along with the fruit-forward balance.

Pouring an expected hazy gold, Passionfruit Provincial rises with a loose and airy froth. Its succulent aromas swirl about with the tangy fruitiness of tropical punch and the brisk supporting scent of citrusy, cider and a hint of sourdough. A moderate sweetness of sourdough, taffy and agave to provide a light buffer to the exposure of sourness and a creamy, bready texture at first sip.

While the flavor of passionfruit is front and center on the middle palate, the framework of the beer is it sourness that comes with a citrusy taste of passionfruit, lime, lemon and grapefruit. Green apple, gooseberry and lemon all play secondary to the tropical fruit. Dry white wine and cider give the passionfruit flavors an agave flavor in a strong sangria late palate.

Medium light in body, especially for sour ale, the added passionfruit flavors and textures add a delicacy in flavor and a rounded body to the otherwise dry ale. A quick aftertaste of cider and wine is surpassed only by the linger of tropical succulence in a medium short afterglow.

Cloudy straw gold with lacing and a white ring. Smell has juicy passion fruit sitting on top of a bath of wheat, grains, fruit esters and belgian yeast. Taste is overwhelmed by the urine like yeast and tons of leaking booze, clashing with the passionfruit and fruit esters. Feel is thin and a little separated for a wild ale. Misses the mark in a few spots

Hazy almost neon yellow, darkening towards the bottom, and topped with a thin white blanket.

Mildly funky hay and straw accent a wheaty body, as tart passion fruit takes up the middle which is moderately present and mixes well with the phenolic spice.

Frothy, semi-bitter and semi-dry, this has a light sting at the tail end.
