Looks was not this beer's strong point. In fact the murky brown brew didn't have any real looks at all, they distracted from the rest of it. However the beer ain't bad at all, kinda a funky apricot pudding/mud puddle.

On tap at Hops and Pie, I got excited because of the apricot and was let down. Light orange color, looks fine. The first aroma was grainy beer like a malt liquor, weird. Later I smelled spice but no apricot. The flavor had an initial candy sweetness and then dry earthiness. The only apricot I could detect was a faint bit on the finish. This is a decent saison but if it didn't have apricot in the name you'd probably never know.

We sampled this one at the Funkwerks Brewery with some friends, a few Saturdays ago. I gotta start by saying that this was the beer I was most excited about trying on our trip that day. I was greatly disappointed. Poured a cloudy orange-amber color with a small off white head. Good funky aromas here, apricot, pear, apple skins. On the palate, this one was medium bodied and tart, with flavors of brett, oak and pears.

Draft at the brewpub.

Pours a hazy dark golden yellowish-orange color with dark banana hues and a frothy one finger white head that slowly fades into lasting cap.  Spots of soapy lacing left behind.

Very complex aroma with dry, earthy Brett that's slightly funky complimenting the earthy saison yeast.  Huge blast of apricot as well as some pale malt along with hints of grass, straw and other light fruit.
Medium bodied but still light, crisp and easy to drink.  Nice balance of dry Brett, sweet fruit and earthy funk.  Not too tart or puckering.  More dry than anything with earhy funk, straw, hay and a ton of sweet apricot sweetness at the end.  Not realy cloying with a dry finish.  Well balanced and extremely quaffable.
