Had this on-tap at Funkwerks 2 days ago, reviewed from notes taken there.
Part of a taster flight, about a 5oz pour to a Funkwerks tulip.
Pours a nice medium yellow with only a hint of haze, small white head that dissipates fairly quickly and no lacing.
So, I really don't like wine especially whites but this beer works incredibly well with the chardonnay barrels. Nose is strong white wine with a nice underlying smell of balanced brett and funk. Taste follows the nose with the funk and brett balancing out the taste a bit more. Slightly spicy and tropical with a nice level of bitterness and a slightly sour finish. Mouthfeel is ideal: medium bodied and a medium-high carbonation. Very drinkable.
Incredible saison here and the barrel aging with brett really takes this one to the next level. I love everything that Funkwerks is doing. Really wish I lived closer so that I could try their wide array of saisons more often.

I have been going to the Funkwerks tasting room more and more these days and this beer is the main reason why. It's my default order when I drop in there.
A: Golden-ish yellow with a white head, about one finger.
S: some spice, pepper and a healthy dose of chardonnay-- you know this beer is aptly named right away.
T: moderate sourness/funk. Really nice chardonnay flavor, which complements the earthy yeast notes in a really pleasing way.
M: medium bodied-- bordering on the lighter side. Moderate to low carbonation. Nice smooth mouth-feel, and rather dry finish.
O: Really nice beer, especially for us white-wine lovers. Quite drinkable but just enough alcohol presence to keep me from drinking too much.

A: pours out a straw yellow with a white head.
S: lots of nice brett funk. there is earthiness and some berries. you also get some chardonnay in the nose with hints of tropical fruit and oak. there is straw and some nice spicy aromas like white pepper. there is also a touch of butter from the chardonnay.
T: a lot of the aroma comes through here. there is some nice brett funk/earthiness. i get tropical fruits, and spice. there is some straw and a touch of sourness. there is oak and hints of vanilla. i get notes of chardonnay and butter.
M: medium with low carb. super smooth.
O: this is a really good beer. a good amount of funk mixed with vinous notes. wish they bottled this.
