really special beer right here, i loved it. a big porter to stout type with toasted coconut and maybe some cocoa nibs, pretty impressive brew, never heard much about these guys before this one. amazing quality, amazing prominence of the coconut, you would almost swear its barrel aged in the nose, it has a woody sort of maturity to it, great integration of the coconut. there is a tall head on this too, a really pretty one to look at, all shiny and dense. it smells and tastes fantastic, nice nutty tropical coconut leads the way, very genuine, no sun tan lotion or anything in here at all, and on top of a rich dark chocolate and chocolaty malt base its incredible, perfect balance and proportion. smooth in feel, not too heavy, a little oxidized tang at the end, but it almost works to dry it out, and i like that too. a decent carbonation to it, but i want it to slow down not speed up so i can keep enjoying this coconut flavor. really tremendous brew, are all the columbia river beers this good? i hope they make this one again, its perfect, even in the summer.
