Had on-tap at CRBC in Portland, OR. Poured almost purely black, with a very dark red ring on the peripheral. Nice cocoa head retained well and left sticky lacing throughout. Had an aroma of dark malts, coffee, cocoa and smoke. Smelled really, really enticing. The booze is a little up front in the taste, but not overly so. I also tasted a bit of molasses that I did not get from the nose.
Full-bodied, chewy and warming from the booze. Overall, a well-balanced, complex and enjoyable stout.

First had: on tap at their brewpub
Poured a dark brown-black with a small cap of off-white head. Lots of roast in the aroma, dark malts and coffee. Roasty taste, as heralded by the aroma, with rich dark malts, and smooth coffee, with some bitterness in the aftertaste; alcohol barely noticeable. Medium-bodied, a little lighter than I like my stouts, but still decent and moderately drinkable overall. Probably the best beer I sampled from Columbia River.
