Served on tap in a shaker pint. Nice garnet color with a finger of creamy off white foam. Decent lacing. Nice aromas, sweet, bready, and a little nutty. Flavor is caramel malt, biscuit, and some floral notes. Feel is in the thinner side.

While the Cleary Red is a decent Irish-style amber ale, it does nothing to really stand out. I'd say it's fairly well balanced. If I ever get a choice between this, and their Scotch Ale, I'll chose their Scotch ale.
