Blackbird Stout

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was an almost black color with a finger’s worth of eggshell white foamy head that dissipated at a slow pace. Mild lace. The aroma had some roasted coffee notes, light oatmeal, light dark chocolate nibs and ends with some cereal/grainy sweetness. The flavor leans to the sweet side and rolls into a smooth sort of oat/grainy aftertaste and on into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionable to sipping sort of quality about it. Roastiness was smoothed out fairly nice by the oatmeal. Overall, nicely done oatmeal stout well worthy of having again.
