A full bodied dark porter, this beer has lots of dark malt characteristics, with the hop characteristics being low and in the background.

Don't get me wrong but I was scratching my head while sampling the 10 beer sample over a few hours at the brewpub, I couldn't figure out why the porter was darker than the dry Irish they had flowing but it's all good nonetheless. Appears a Dark ruby hue with light almost black hue with a light tan head leaves behind even lacing with each sip. Aroma has a touch of coffee presence and dark chocolate sweetness, some toffee caramel malt presence as well finished of with light herbal hop notes. Flavor is sweet upfront with the dark chocolate/light coffee mix, caramel toffe note was also noted to add to the sweetness I experienced of course the even bittering hops had the herbal quality but the dark roasts also provided enough bitterness on the palate to balance it all. Mouthfeel is medium bodied evenly carbonated very smooth going down as well. Drinkability...quaffable nice representation quality porter quite enjoyable.

Creamy, with 70% nitro. Dark, a bit of roast aroma. But not much left in the taste, a tad of roasted walnut maybe. No coffee nor chocolate. Thinner than I would like. Was not as drinkable as many porters I have had. Sampled at the brewery in Pittsburgh.
