A European style pilsner, similar to the Dortmunder but lighter in malt and hops.

One thing I noticed about the beers at Hereford and hops was that I actually preferred the lighter styles and lagers in general over the ales and dark brews they were sporting. I think someone knows their way around the lagering tanks in this case probably just the serving tanks. Appears a pale very pale golden slightly hazed tone forms a very vibrant white head that dwindles at a moderate pace leaving fine even lacing around my glass. Aromatics include German Saaz hops with a light biscuit malt character the herbal grassy notes from the hops blend very nicely with the lightly toasted grains. Flavor contains ample lightly toasted biscuit toned malt presence with herbal, grassy, bitey Saaz hops finishes dry with a shadow of a metallic tone coming through blended so nicely yet hoppy pils overall not overkill just evident and well constructed. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied of course however they did a great job at avoiding watery texture here ample carbonation brings an all around crisp character to this great drinking lager. Drinkability...definitely a go to version of the pils when most consumers associate any type of Pilsner with Miller Lite it's great to see a brewpub crafting true to style and not dumbing anything down.
