Appearance: Clear bloody red appearance. Carbonation is visible in the scarlet red body. Thin beige head recedes quickly, but leaves some sparse lace as I drink.

Aroma: A little rum. Some molasses. Some brown sugar. And quite doughy.

Taste: Very nice tasting dopplebock. Dougy, bready malt base. Rumcake accents. Cinnamon sprinkles. Bread pudding.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and lightly carbonated. Moves easily. Body is a little better than medium and the alcohol is barely perceptible.

Drinkability: This is definitely a dopplebock that I'd return to. Tasty and enjoyable.

From Wausau pub-

Dark brown color...

Sweet, malty aroma of milk chocolate, brown sugar and molasses.

Sweet flavor too...again real big on the milk chocolate and roasted malts....

Body is medium...a little sticky sweet but not excessively so..

Overall drinkability is solid...might be too sweet for some but I really like this brew. Their new brewmaster seems to have stepped up the quality a notch or two from the last time I was there (and it wasn't bad then either). A nice sweet, malty doppelbock.
