A nice impresive light gold color...aroma has some spicy characteristics..flavor is sweet...bready...very tasty....body is about medium...body seems about perfect for the style...much more full bodied than a pilsner...actually seems very true to form as a whole...hops are evident in a spicy way but much more subdued than a pilsner...maltiness is sweet but no hints of caramel...I get a strong breadiness whcih I think is acceptable for this style.

A very nice easy drinking but unassumingly complex beer....very enjoyable and I'm glad I got a growler to enjoy.

Beautiful clear straw color. Half a finger of ivory white head sits on top. Retention is better than average. Lace is clingy and abundant. The aroma is very nice. There's a yeasty doughiness that really pleases the senses. And some hay and light maltiness as well. On the palate, I also get a doughy yeastiness. Nice bready character. And a pilsner-like maltiness. Bitterness is low as hops only provide balance. Maybe some slight pepper. The body is quite hefty... about medium-full. Carbonation spot on. This dortmunder gives "Dortmunder Gold" a run for its money. Very enjoyable. This growler's damn near gone and it's only been an hour.

This beer pours a perfect golden body with a soft white cap that tend to fade somewhat quickly.

The aroma is not very apparent, perhaps because of the cold serving temps. But as it warms I do detect some mild hop notes along with a smooth malty base.

The taste has a buttery diacetyl in the forefront, but that falls away to a smooth malt flavor and a nice hop finish. Not as bitter as I would think a Dortmunder would be, and very little mineral bite

The mouthfeel is very impressive and gives this beer a nice heft.

I enjoyed this beer, it is quite drinkable and would be a good choice for drinkers afraid of heavier beers.
