2002 Christmas Ale
This beer is brewed with heather tips and star anise, which dominates both the aroma and taste. This is the first heather ale I have sampled and the heather provides this ale with a very different taste profile: very clean and almost gin-like, not the woodier or earthy taste I expected...very refreshing. The anise might be a bit too dominant for the body and seems to overwhelm the malt taste.
An interesting and noteworthy seasonal beer.
