Slightly hazed copper tone. Thin creamy beige head. Retention is very good and the lacing is quite full. Nose is sweet. Big time caramel, toffee and nugget. An underlying citric hoppiness is present as well. A fitting nose for an amber ale. The body of this beer is full and hearty. An Appropriate amount of carbonation is noted. Flavor is packed full of goodies. Caramel is King. Then there's some slightly roasted malt tones. Nugget. Toasted Malts. A little spiciness coming if from the West Coast hops I presume they used. This beer is full of flavor. It's a nice one.

I'd like to see a name change. "Hop Rocket" makes me brace for a Hop Bomb of an American Style Pale Ale. And that it is not. (Neither a Hop Bomb or a Pale Ale.) Just a spiced up amber ale. If I set out to brew an Amber, this is what I'd shoot for.

Quality brew but seems more along the lines of a "bitter"...or perhaps an ESB...a nice strong caramel malt backbone with a good dose of west coast like hop flavor..a bit of a leafy hop flavor...very nice floral/sweetish hop nose to this...body is a little thin but very drinkable..

Not an all-time great but a solid offering from a solid brewpub.

A very nice hoppy pale ale brewed in the Pacific Northwest style.

A clear amber body with a generous head forming and lingering, minimal lacing. Looks very nice for a pale ale.

The aroma is dominated by the floral citrusy hop notes from Cascade hops or one of its cousins.

The taste is a very well-balanced blend of malt sweetness with everpresent hop bitterness. Not as bitter as some beers you might find in Seattle or Portland, but hoppy for the Middle West. The body seems a tad light, I prefer more malt chewiness to balance the hops.

I enjoyed this beer very much and hope it becomes part of the regular stable of H&H beers.
