Copenhagen 2/10 2025. 33 cl bottle in a fine cardboard tube from Private Selection, Rødovre Centrum, Rødovre. Dark red label with a Dragon in gold holding a coat of arms.
Pours clear dark mahogany with a small off-white head. Stable. Settles as paper thin layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet and sugary odor of malts and alcohol. Potent Brown sugar. On the verge of being candy-like. Sweet liqueur peeking in. Very light tart notes. Might be the rowan berries making a presence. Or my imagination.
Low carbonation. Rather thick, oily, soft, quire flat texture,
Flavor is intense with a heavy sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is a bit sugary and rather boozy. Lingering. Finish is sweet with a searing boozy burn.
Sweet and potent take on a classic English Barleywine.

Bottle: Poured a clear burgundy color ale with a medium size off-white foamy head with very minimal retention and not much lacing. Aroma of dry caramelized malt with light port notes is quite nice. Taste is also a mix of dry caramelized malt notes with some light port notes and some light oxidized notes. Body is about average with medium to low carbonation level with no real apparent alcohol notes. Interesting take on the barleywine style with low carbonation, to much residual sugar notes and dry oxidized finish.
