Taster at brewery. Copper colored pour, spotty head with ring. Light smoky aroma. Taste is malty, sweet, smoky. Peat? Not here. Toffee, but that's about it.

was able to head back to the Finger Lakes Beer Company last week. I found out that they had a new beer on tap that was a scotch ale called Ring of Fire. The owner said this was a very different brew than they previously have had there.
A- a dark ruby body with a slightly tan head of foam. Brew looks like an amber as well as a scotch at the same time
S- good caramel malt and brown sugar that is also rounded off with a slightly smokey malt that trails off in the end
T- not super smoked, but darkened malt nonetheless. The sweet flavors blend in well to finish the taste with even a little bitterness
M- great carbonation and a good slap of flavor
D- a light scotch ale. I like a little more smokiness in my scotch ale ie: old chub.... but still a good brew worth revisiting
