I just moved to ABQ and decided to check this place out after coming from Denver. The place is clean with a good selection of malts and hops. The selection of yeast was only average as they did not have some of the more seasonal selections I would expect to see in the summer.

Price was a little higher than the big online stores(all crushed grain was $1.75/lb, WL yeast was $7.99) homebrew stores, but much better than the prices I paid at my LHBS in Denver. Service was good and the guy working there did not mine my 2 and 4 year olds eating some of the grain while I measured out my ingredients.

The crush was quite good and actually saw my effiancy rise up 6% on a recipe that I have made numerous times before.

I think I might skip the online stores for a while unless I am buying a lot of grain.

Definitely recommend.

Let me just say that I always ordered my supplies and ingredients online before this place opened. I have not placed an online order in over a year, that is how great the selection and quality is here!

I have yet to go in there and not find what I am looking for. The yeast is always extremely fresh as Kevin places a yeast order weekly. Special orders are accepted and with the 10% discount I get for being in the Dukes of Ale homebrew club and the lack of shipping charges I can meet or even beat online prices.

The store is very clean and well-organized. All the malts are against one wall in these self service containers. He has everything from starter kits to stainless conical fermenters to Blichmann trees.

Highly recommended!

New store, very clean and well organized. Wonderful selection of hops, yeast, and especially grains in a great self-serve area (see picture on website!). The store has some nice kits for beginner's as well as a good selection of brewing equipment from Igloos to Blichmann stainless. Lots of fittings and hoses and do-dads to make brewing life easier.

Kevin is an extremely knowledgeable brewer and always willing to help with a taste review, idea, or critique. The store also holds great seminars at a reasonable price. I really could not ask for more from a LHBS!

Great LHBS to get brewing supplies and ingredients. The counter is built like a pub and the whole store is cleanly laid out with tons of equipment and a lot of accessories for setting up a good brewing rig. There is a fun wall of specialty grains to choose from so its nice when you need to piece together a recipe. Plus the shop is open everyday so if I forget something I know I can always bolt right over and grab it.

All their brewing equipment is really well priced and they have many fittings so you can piece together specific parts if your trying to build something complicated or having trouble getting something to work. I would highly recommend checking it out.
