The original India Pale Ales were brewed for export with lots of hops and high gravity to help them survive long journeys by sea. Chilkoot Trail follows suit using Amarillo and Cascade hops for a floral and citrus flavor. An assertive bitterness and soft alcohol warmth are supported by a strong malty backbone.

Stagway Brewery – Chilkoot IPA
This is medium body brew with a pineapple rind and a hop cone citrus flavor. This is a good beer made with Amarillo and cascade hops.

Pours golden clear with white foamy cap. Nice bite with juicy hop forward west coast IPA style ale.

On draft at SBC. Lighter copper body, one finger white head. Citrus, grapefruit rind, caramel, toffee, light toasted grains, a bit of pine. Medium in body, good balance and carbonation. Fairly standard west coast style IPA with a decent malt backbone.

Pours hazy, gold in color with minimal head. Taste is pine, caramel, and light floral hops. Light bodied, bitter,
and moderate carbonation. Makes for a slightly above average ipa. Not one I would go out of my way for, but solid beer.

The appearance had a fairly decent amber color with no head and no lacing (no worries, bar pour - ah cheers). The smell had a decent bittered and somewhat sweet apple in an earthy roasty and somewhat toasty fresh citrus sort of way. Light cereal adds to this. The taste took those previously mentioned flavors to add a tender sweetness to it. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionable quality about it. The carbonation finishes good for the style and decent to me. Overall, different AIPA than what I had.

Lots of bland beer to be had in this tourist trap. Big pickles too! Sweet, sort of watery, and oddly hoppy in a sort of stale herbal way. Not a fan of this one.
