The copper color American pale ale is clean and dry with a subtle hop character. Initial citrus aromas lend itself to a soft bitterness that lingers into a smooth finish.

Stagway Brewery – Prospector pale ale
This is a big favorable brew that’s almost an IPA in its taste. The main flavor is citrus with a bit of bite which is unusual in a pale. I like it and would recommend it.

At the brewpub, this was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy amber color with a bar pour's kind of head = no head, no lacing and no worries.
The smell had a real ripe citrus fruit and a rich caramel malt about it.
The taste took those flavors and added a real nice balance of citrus hops to dried caramel notes.
The mouthfeel was semi-dry and had an okay bitterness about it.
Overall, good APA that I would have again and it goes really well with their bacon cheeseburgers.

On tap at the brewery. Pours hazy amber with white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, biscuit malt and ripe fruit. Body is medium and crisp. Taste is a perfect balance of citrusy hops, biscuit malt and some fruity notes. Finish is long and balanced. Nice, delicious pale ale.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange color with a thin and dense white head that burns away slowly. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops and citrus. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with flavors of citrusy hops and malt. Floral notes are present at times as well. The finish is hoppy with a grapefruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
