Poured into a pint glass at the brewery in Bennington, VT. Solid pumpkin ale! Pours rich, translucent brown with two fingers worth of head; slowly recedes with great lasing. Slight sweet pumpkin taste coupled with subtle spices and a decent - though not too bitter - hop backing. Tough to find a quality pumpkin ale... this is definitely a great one.

On tap at the brewery.
12oz. glass, great presentation, murky brown with a small, creamy white head, and a margarita-esque rim covered with fall spices, as well as some floating on the top. The nose is filled with cinnamon and nutmeg, mostly because the spices on the glass obscure anything else, but there is some good caramel malt in the background. The beer itself is brewed with pumpkin and butternut squash, so there's an earthy, vegetal quality in the taste, complimenting the caramel malts, and the freshly grated spice blend adds a great touch, giving you the option to take in as much spice as you want, without it being fully infused in the beer. Nice medium body, easily drinkable, and possibly the best beer I've had from Madison.
