I brought a tall boy can of this beer home from the brewery whilst passing through on my way to my son's hockey showcase. It poured a slightly hazy golden with white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had very mild grain and subtle citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright semi sweet malt base with grain and slight lemon citrus bitterness. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Poured into a 16 oz glass at Madison Brewing in Bennington. Bright yellow color with decent foamy head that slowly recedes and leaves modest lacing. Initial bright but subtle hops gives way to a pungent (olives?) tastes. A bit disappointed.

The appearance was a hazy yellow color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that left no lacing. The smell had some sweet wheat, lemon juice sweetness, and a modified pine bitterness underneath. The taste was sweet mainly through the wheat and lemon . Combined sweet to bitter aftertaste. Wet smooth crisp sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fantastic sessionability about it. Carbonation runs smooth and light. Overall, I didn’t really see this as a kolsch but a fantastic Blonde ale that I would have again.

Good colour, easy on the nose, light and sweetish, which I like. It'd make for a great summer beer, and not so bad during December.

This is really not my style at all, but for the style, it was actually pretty good. Typical appearance, golden blonde, clear, small bubbly white head. Aroma was light, pale malts, distant hop bitterness. Basic taste profile, pale malt sweetness with some light herbal hop notes. Nothing out of the ordinary. Light body, crisp, refreshing, drinkable. Good for the style.

Pours a clear golden color with thinnish white head and retention. Smells of grainy and honey malt with a slightly earthy hop aroma. Taste is sweet with and earthy hop bite. Honey and grass maltiness come through nicely until the finish hits with a weird astringent plastic phenolic taste. Light body with a medium level of carbonation and a sweet almost sticky mouthfeel. I think this would have been a great light beer if there wasn't something obviously wrong with it.

This beer pours a clear, bold yellow with minimal head but with lasting lace. The aroma is of citrus with hops and malt both showing through. The flavor opens with lemons and honey followed by bread and a dry, hoppy finish, well balanced. It's got a medium mouthfeel and is very refreshing. Madison Sucker Pond Blonde is a very good beer and paired well with Irish Pub Fries at Madison. Highly recommended.

Another Kolsch style brew from another Vermont brewery. Delivered to my table, by one of the brewmasters no less, a bright, gold color with a fluffy white head. The nose was a little hoppy and slightly sour/stale. The flavors were malty at first, some candy sugars that then faded into a hoppy bitterness. Biscuits and bread. Crisp finish. Decent mouthfeel, smooth with moderate carbonation. Drinks much better than it smells. A good beer but I can't help but feel it is an American version of a German style.
