Went through three of these and sent one to a buddy.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a dark orange to brown color with a some slim light hues of purple surrounding the very center. A finger's worth of white foamy head dissipated fairly quick.
The aroma had the sweetness of the blueberries up front then sweet cream and a light dose of grassy sweet to light bitter hoppiness.
The flavor yields to the of the blend of the blueberries and cream. Hops seem to get a tad bit lost here but I didn't mind since this is supposed to be a milkshake IPA. Mild aftertaste of sweet blueberries and grassiness.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied, seemed to sit a tad bit under. Definitely has the low carbonation of a milkshake IPA, nice and low! ABV felt spot on. Finish was all about the blueberries.
Overall, as much as I liked it for me, since I love blueberries, I have to admit the body seems a bit off as to being a true milkshake IPA. However, part of me wants to say - is this the creative genius of Will Gardner, the Brewmaster of Madison Brewing Company to create something a bit lighter? Could be. Would this be a blueberry DIPA? I'm left scratching my beard.
