Copenhagen 7/1 2022. 44 cl can from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. A little picture of what looks like crop circles filled with water on the can.
Pours opaque hazy, golden yellow with a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin but frothy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of pale malts with a fermented, fruity touch mingling with more modest citric notes. Mango and peach. Hints of decay. Citrus and lime.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a light bitter undertone. Finish is malty and semi-dry.
A tad too sweet for my taste but well made.

Hay colored with a nice white head an d great lacing. The nose has a strong perfume character, grassy, very floral. The taste is spicy, floral with a dry bittering hop finish and maybe a touch skunky. Nice, but not fantastic.

This is characteristically a European IPA - sweet malt backbone, unfiltered, and noble hops.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a slightly cloudy, medium coppery amber with a healthy two finger white head with great retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of bready, slightly caramel malt with citrus and mildly piney hops, orange citrus and hints of light stone fruit; slightly floral. Flavor is orange and lemon rind, citrus hop with a hint of resinous pine, light stone fruit, Belgian yeast with a nice light tartness from the rye. Finishes with a unique and quite pleasant stone fruit and citrus bitterness that doesn't have the typical green herbal hop flavors, but does present the fruit flavors nicely, similar to a Belgian IPA. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A bit understated at first; the hop flavors don't seem very forward, but the interaction of malt and hops produces a very pleasant, just barely tart, stone fruit and citrus flavor that lasts into the finish where the hop bitterness asserts itself to leave a great lingering fruit and hop taste. Although presented as a North American IPA, it has a lot of Belgian character and perhaps the best of both styles. Everything is well integrated. I liked this a lot despite what I think is a little bit of an old bottle. Nicely done. If I wasn't buried in fresh hop IPAs this season, I'd head out and get some more of this.

Pours a cloudy, golden color. 5/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of sweet malt, slight earthy malt, slight caramel malt, citrus hops, hint of a pine, and a hint of alcohol. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with a high carbonation level. There is also a strong dryness. Tastes of strong piney hops, citrus hops, slight sweet malt, slight caramel malt, hint of alcohol, and a hint of rye. Overall, great appearance, dry body and feel, and too carbonated.
