Deep gold colored body; thick, sticky, white head. Sweet aroma, mostly caramel and ripe yellow fruits; mild orange. Funky, tart yet with a quick sweetness, somewhat brett-infused flavor; phenolic; pink grapefruit; bitter. Bright and sharp mouthfeel; dry finish.
Some of the sharpness and brightness in the flavor and mouthfeel probably comes from the red wine barrel aging. There is a kind of hotness to things that somewhat detracts from the overall enjoyment. It's not overly bad, but is present enough to raise an eyebrow. Good, different, yet a little odd...
