Sur Galaxy

Sour Mashed Black IPA. A rich roasted malt profile, smooth yet light bodied with a soured/tart finish. Balanced and finished with the citrusy and passion fruit like hop profile of this notorious Australian hop.

Black in color with no light penetration. There's a solid inch and a half of densely packed creamy beige resting on top. Moderate lacing. I'm smelling the soured Brettanomyces note a bit more than I am the piney hops and dark malt, but not by much. The taste highlights the soured profile and the dark malt plays a background note. There's a hint of fig and wine grapes. I'm not tasting the hops, but it could be due to the age of this can. The mouth is moderately carbonated, bone dry, and acidic.

L - Beautiful dark ruby with a nice beige head
S - good complexity of recalcitrant, blueberry, coffee, citrus and light herbal touch
T - A bit messy. Tart coffee with blackcurrants and grapefruit juice
M - Low carbonation, good bite
O - Could be great but all the flavors don't make a good but rather go against each other. Not my favorite sur series beer

L - black, big tan head
S - chocolatey malt, muscadine, a little funk
T - super sour up front, some fruity hops, cherry, roasted malt on the finish, but the initial sour note carries through
F - medium thickness, medium minus carbonation
O - a very unusual beer, but balanced in its way, goes well with spicy food

Black color with fluffy, tan head. Aroma has some fresh, piney hops and sourdough. Taste starts tart but follows hoppy with some extra roasted malt. Pretty heavy bodied with good carbonation. Quite complex but somehow the flavors are well integrated.
