A "fresh" IPA that already tastes like its been sitting on a hot shelf for a year. I understand that the European style is different, but this misses every mark. Its syrupy and just tastes old. Too much put into this trying to be unique. I had trouble finishing my half of the 12oz bottle.

This is a very unique IPA, much more booze to it than any other IPA I have ever tasted, if there were such a thing as a barrel aged IPA this would be it. The 13% ABV is quite evident. Tastes and smells of, besides the booze, grapefruit, orange, lemon, spices and some undefined sweetness. Finishes dry and tart, well carbonated, a unique beer.

three-year old can of candied peaches, fermented. discount bin white wine made into a syrup. unpleasantly sugary and boozy, with a horrid lingering finish. i generally like this brewery - this beer is terrible in every way. i'd rather drink ice beer from the gas station.

Pours a clear garnet with tons of sediment in suspension, one finger of creamy off-white head settles to a thin ring in a minute, with a few scattered dots of lace on the glass. Smell: first impression is that from the ester blast this could be labeled as a 'Belgian' IPA... you've got cooked red apple, pear, and plum to go along with the syrup soaked pancakes, peach skin, and the hops... astringent pine and tons of berry-focused Mosaic, plus a note of citrus peel and plenty of booze. Taste: dried dates, booze soaked caramelized peaches and pear, dried orange, blueberry syrup, pine and/or juniper, alcohol burn. Sugary and full bodied with a hop and booze filled finish. This is pretty good with the caveat that it fits no particular IPA style. American-hopped BSPA might even be more fitting. Lots of hops, lots of booze, plenty of sweet fruit flavors.

Truly exceptional beer, and case of point for amazing IPAs outside of the US.

Look: Clear amber, light but existing carbonation.
Feel: Perfect: carbonation just enough to make it fun but not overwhelming
Smell: Amazing. Very IPAish, very hoppy, but then a hint of something deeper. Some grapefruit and just a sense of depth.
Taste: Very much a continuation of the smell. Still grapefruit, but also grapes and lemon, cirtusy and fruity, this is unbelievable., hoppy but not too much so. Sweet, but not too much so. Perfectly balanced.

This is truly one of the finest beers out there, and definitely on the top of anything coming out of Europe.

Dark amber color with off-white head. Aroma is quite weird with tart fruits and wine, even a hint of balsamico. Taste has also a slight tartness but then comes a good amount of bitterness. It's a really weird beer, like a bitter wild ale.

Powerfully alcoholic and equally as bold with hops, To Øl gets into the "triple IPA" game with a juicy malt foundation and a host of sticky, dank, resinous and piney hops.

Rich with barley sugars, the ale pours with the density of maple syrup but with the hue of winter's honey. Deeply caramelized, the nose is bright with grass, citrus, stone fruit and alcohol spice. But the first sip shows a malty introduction- rich caramel, toffee, maple and sorghum slather the tongue with toasted, savory, biscuity malt.

But then the hops take hold as the beer rolls along the tongue. An aggressive rise of grapefruit, orange peel, melon rinds and apricot burst onto the scene with a suggestive taste of fruit-rollup candy. Somewhat jammy, the fruit sweetness is abruptly met with intense bitterness and extreme spicy flavor. Equal parts rubbing alcohol and straight curacao liquor tighten their grip on the back of the throat.

Full bodied but trending malty-dry, the effects of alcohol and the resinous hop bitterness both support a drying sensation late although the sticky, cannabis, and chivy flavor of hops suggests something piney and sap-like. Spicy gin joins the fray and the ale continues a complex but difficult trek toward a long boozy and bitter aftertaste.
