a fine continuation of an exceptional and highly educational series. on tap asbury provisions, i have long thought that equinox hops would be well suited to a funky sour beer like this one, and sure enough it is. thicker and cloudy from the tap, but creamy and heady too, with lots of visible carbonation still. the nose is mouthwatering, the hops are obviously heavily dry hopped, with the juicy bright equinox really taking on its true identity among the funky wild yeasts. notes of mango and pineapple right away, a grassy growing freshness, and lots of lemon and orange as well, exacerbated by the lacto sourness. the flavor is really good, the hops are awesome with the citric sourness, its puckery but not too much to drink, and like all the other beers in this series, the hops are there from start to finish, really fresh, and really heavily dosed, which gives us a great appreciation for the specific varietal. i get fresh mango for sure, lots of citrus, and more bitterness than i remember in the others too. some nice bretty funk here too, this is quite dynamic overall. fuller bodied, wheaty feeling, but with nice carbonation too, i drink it down way too fast. an impressive demonstration of equinox hops in a context we have not seen much of, especially by themselves. i really liked this. cool they have canned it too! these guys are on fire!
