De Degustasur. En copa Teku. Leyendo Intro to Python Ch16 + Jugando a Avernum 6. Aunque el alcohol se deja ver, no molesta en absoluto, yendo acompañado de un delicioso dulzor y suavidad en boca que hace olvidarlo.

On tap at The Beer Market in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very dark black, with a surprisingly bubbly head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells pretty appallingly sweet, with port, sugary molasses, cognac, chocolate syrup, lactose cream, and pure sugar.
This is an overwrought syrupy sweet mess. It's just syrupy and sugary, with no subtleties or nuance, just overwhelming cognac and saccharine nightmares. As it warms, it also gets boozy, which just adds to the wretchedness here.
This has a lower level of carbonation, syrupy, and underattenuated. It's not drinkable.
This is a major miss. It didn't work. At all.

Pours black with a finger of khaki head. Head retention is fantastic, with good strands of lacing left behind. Aroma is deep, dark notes of roasted and toasted malts, with boozy cognac, and charred barrel. Flavor profile is toasted and roasted malts. Boozy cognac is apparent throughout, with a light cherry, charred barrel finish. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a velvety texture. Overall, lots of hearty notes, but it comes off as slightly boozy.

Dark brown color with mocha head. Aroma has boozy notes, brandy mostly with toasted and spicy malts. Taste starts sweet with chocolate, cognac, spicy malt, light roasty bitterness on the finish. Medium plus body with soft carbonation. Quite nice but boozy, not very easy to drink.

Moderate pour yields a one and a half inch tan head over a dark brown body with some sticky lacing. Head dissipates down to a thick ring with a an island of a creamy head covering most of the surface. A couple swirls bring back a full head very nicely. Nose of dark fruit, bananas, roasted malts, raisins, and milk chocolate. Taste mirrors nose deliciously with the booze coming forward and resting on my cheeks to stay. ;) Nice feel and overall, I've never really had anything like this and will be putting this on our New Year's Eve tasting menu for sure. Cheers!
