Poured out of a 16.9 oz can into one of my tulip glasses, this beer pours a very dark brown, almost black color with a fluffy, creamy looking, tan/light brown head that's over an inch thick when first poured. Good head retention and very nice lacing. Head eventually settles to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with a decent film layer coating of surface foam. Aromas of toasted, bready and chocolate malts along with hints of vanilla, plum and certainly blueberry and also a bit of rum. A very nice aroma indeed! The overall flavor profile is quite similar, with roasted, bready and chocolate malts along with hints of vanilla, plum and certainly blueberry that's all rounded with a bit of rum boozeyness that makes its presence known but that is not at all dominating/over bearing.. There's also a lactic, milk like quality in the flavor and the mouthfeel, and the tart sweetness of the blueberry is really a unique touch here that I like a lot. Especially once this warms up a bit, all the flavors just come together so nicely indeed. Has a slightly crisp, mainly smooth, creamy, frothy, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean, smooth finish and a nice aftertaste of all the aforementioned flavors. A very unique take on this style of beer. I've never had anything quite like it before.

Pours jet black with a coffee head that doesn’t last long.
Smell is heavy on alcohol with vanilla notes.
Taste is way less boozy than the smell suggests. Alcohol is definitely present, but vanilla and chocolate notes are also quite strong. Sweet and strong. Warms the chest.
Mouthfeel is medium for a stout.
Overall a strong and delicious stout. Def worth a try if you can find it.

Found this in Boston in Aug. 2019 and have opened it 2/15/2020. Pours black/with a big head that hangs in there with some lacing. Smell, not one of my strong points is But I can detect some chocolate, high ABV that is not going away, YAY, but is wonderfully subtle, swirl test is loaded with subtle impressions and overall it is one heck of a good brew from a brewery that isn’t easy to get in our country. I couldn’t find it easily in current beers and finally did find it in the archived/retired beer list. I can’t help but wonder if this is might be an older beer that found its way to Boston? No date on it with the possible exception of some raised letters on the bottle. 3/26. March of 2019, or some other year? Whatever year it is, I am still drinking it, it’s damn tasty.

Nearly opaque chocolatey brown with a filmy brown head. Smell is rich vanilla chocolate. Taste is slightly bitter vanilla chocolate with some bite from the rum barrel chips. Feel is a little more watery than I expected. Overall, very good but a slight miss of my expectations.
