Excellent head production, retention, and lacing. Body is a dark orange, completely opaque, and really taking after the Trillium/Tree House style of NE IPA.
Bright, herbal, and modestly dank nose, featuring Italian herbs, grass, and a melange of tropical and citrus hops. I'm strongly suspecting Galaxy, alongside possibly Citra, Nelson, and others.
Similar presentation on the palate: bright, juicy, herbal; an excellent blend of bright modern hops. Moderately sweet, driven by hop tones of mandarin orange, ruby red grapefruit, peach, star fruit, and berries, all layered atop a fairly thick but somewhat restrained malt base of peppery cracker and light honey. Moderate-to-low bitterness.
Mouthfeel is damn near perfect for the style: creamy, smooth, yet still lively, with a bit of sting, but allowing you to really savor it if you choose. Doesn't hit hard, but it's clearly a high ABV brew, hitting a sweet spot for an 8% brew.
This is shockingly good, just spot on for the style across the board.
