Vanilla, orange, and lactose swirled together to make a sunny orange creamsicle reminiscent of your childhood, now thankfully reimagined in an alcoholic form. Though the sun in our sky is still not quite here to stay yet, the golden glow is well alive right here in this delicious brew! Wooooohooooo

Copenhagen 22/8 2021. 44 cl can from Føtex, Vesterbrogade, Kbh. V. Horizontal, blurry stripes on the can in red, yellow, orange and purple.

Pours opaque, murk, brownish yellow with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is intense with a strong, candy-like sweet odor mingling with a light tart scent. Lactose, vanilla, bubblegum, artificial air-freshener, orange marmalade and wine gums. Light whiff of lime and citrus.

Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, smooth, creamy, almost flat texture.

Flavor is intense with a strong, sugary sweetness followed by a light tart sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a sour undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish sweetish ad a bit dry.

Orange juice with vanilla and Hermesetas. Not for me.

they’re calling it a creamsicle, i’m calling it a milkshake ipa, BA says i can’t call it either, so be it

look: one finger creamy white head which slowly dissipates to a thin layer of bubbles, beer is an ultra hazy orange to amber colour, dense thick haze.

smell: loads of vanilla and orange, ice cream, somewhat tart, hint of rhubarb, hint of brown bread, really quite sweet, caramel, vanilla rules the roost though.

taste: incredibly juicy, like some strange craft herbal orange juice, with some vanilla to boot, mad stuff, just so orangey, orange pith, caramel, super sweet, light bitterness on the finish still, sweet fruity flavours linger, odd, but nice.

feel: light to medium bodied, light to medium carbonation, sticky, very quaffable, perhaps on the verge of cloyingly sweet.

overall: really quite strange, it’s like an orange ice pop, no doubt about it, not exactly what you look for in a beer but it’s still nice, fun to have a really low alcohol beer that isn’t unpleasant, but not my favourite
