Black, with a thin, beige head. Roasted malt, coffee, bourbon, and dark fruits in the aroma. Moderately sweet taste with roasted bitterness at the end. Warm, lingering finish.

just scored a stash of this sexy import... and thought i'd dive right in.
Pour is pretty flat right from out of the cold, a few bubbles that pop, a very thin menacing ring around the rim though. Opaque like, well, espresso coffee.
Nose doesn't exactly arrest the senses with complexity, but dark roasts & barrel are prominent.
Taste, while still chilly, is of caramel sweetness and coffee, roasted malts, barrel notes, and tangy tannins. I'm suspecting a sampling from cellar-temp may reveal even more complexities that i'm not honing in on yet...?
Feel & swallow, it tangs the tongue, goes down smoothly with just a slight afterburn. Nice little jolt to the bloodstream. Not unpleasant at all.
Overall a lovely little rare bird to serve, share & store.
