Copenhagen 16/4 2024. 37,5 cl heavy glass bottle from Meny, Nordens Plads, Frb. F. The version I am drinking is holding a ABV of 11,7. Black label with the name of the beer in douche purple, red and yellow.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a small beige head. Stable. Settles as thin, patch of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a light sweet and malty odor mingling with dark licorice and coffee. Whiff of alcohol. Toffee and caramel. Lactose. Black espresso coffee and dark chocolate. A bit metallic.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, a bit viscous, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a light sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Despite the name and concept this is not an overwhelmingly sweet beer.

Amazing beer. Hides the alcohol, easy to drink. Looks like the solar system sky in the last fading lights of a supernova on the event horizon. That purple-black I love about big bastard stouts.
Called a "pastry stout", less sweet than you'd expect. Drinking after some Hanoi fried rice from a Thai joint down the street. Perfect finish to that meal. Drank at about 38 degrees to start (fridge temp), the way I like my deep and darks to start. Smell is typical in a good way; head was on target for one of these. The flavor profile is absolutely perfect parts, no booze, the right amount of sweetness.
One of the best beers I've had in a while.

Purchased this beer at a local grocery store in a bottle. I boosted the overall a bit because I had this beer for self styled Saturday brunch in my car along with a wonderful egg panini! Very pleasant!
The beer is really good too! Poured into plastic tapered glass. Beautiful deep dark brown with a golden brown initial head. Good lacing. The smell is of pastry, vanilla and dark chocolate. Taste follows this and the beer has a nice smooth, silky feel. The beer made for an excellent brunch right in my car.

Cinnamon colored head. Rich on the nose- whisky, vanilla, raisin, spice, chocolate, and a hint of coffee. The coffee is much more pronounced in the mouth. Starting sweet, with caramel and chocolate, with light roast coffee, a bit of hoppy spice, some whisky, then more coffee in the body, with some vanilla. Feel is thick, but not too sticky. It’s very sweet, though it is a pastry stout after all, but I appreciate the complexity of the coffee profile.
