Copenhagen 29/7 2023. 37,5 cl bottle from Meny, Industrivej, Løkken. Dark brown label with a dash of color. Apparently a 2022 version.

Pours opaque dark brown with a small beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin rim of foam running along these of the glass. No lacing.

Aroma is intense with a sweet, dark malty odor with touch of roast and Christmas spices. Dark roasted malts, brown sugar in abundance, licorice, cinnamon, bitter dark chocolate and a touch of chili pepper. Dark alcohol looming.

Light carbonation. Rather thick, oily, a bit viscous, fat, creamy, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is intensewith a strong sugary sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is intensely sweet. Lingering. Finish is a bit dry - like very dark chocolate.

Quite the pastry shop. But it did not hurt with a visit in the Bourbon barrel.

375 ml bottle, vintage 2022, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 11.0%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee, chocolate, cinnamon and chili. Medium sweet flavour, with loads of chocolate and a nice chili burn. Moderate hops. Enjoyable.

Served in a goblet from the bottle.

Appearance: deep black body coming off the semi transparent, tan head rose about half a fingers length off the body and dropped before first sip.

Smell: Light sweet caramel aroma which dissipates quick.

Taste: sweet toffee body with light molasses and with mellow milk sugars and spicy. Has the chilli pepper effect which kicks in better after the beer warms up.

Mouth: Sticky body, syrup like frame with a soft carbonation.

Overall: Awesome beer. Like a spicy brownie soda in bourbon in a glass. Fall in lust.
