Copenhagen 19/2 2023. 44 cl can from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Black can with some kind of braille in white.
Pours opaque dark maroon with big light beige head. Settles as uneven, lumpy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, toasted odor of dark malts mingling with a nutty and earthy scent. Caramel, toffee and toasted bread. Hints of bitter chocolate and nuts.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a rather strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a pleasant sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Very nice Schwarzbier succeeding in being appropriately sweet - but not without bitter bite.
