375 ml bottle. Served in a Great Lakes Brewing chalice, the beer pours dark brown black with a couple inch frothy tan head that sticked around a long time. There's also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate, coffee and chili peppers. It tastes like roasted malt, smoke, bittersweet and milk chocolate, chili peppers, molasses and some coffee. The chili pepper in this beer isn't strong at all. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and creamy with moderate carbonation. Pretty easy to drink for a beer that's 12.3% ABV. Overall, I liked this brew. It's nice and tasty, although I wish there was more of a chili pepper kick to it. $12.99 a bottle.

I have no memory of buyign this, but the un-waxed, un-corked bottle has been sitting in my cellar for at least 3 years, so I better get around to trying it.
The cap comes off with just the fainest wisp of a hiss, but thankfully there's plenty of effervescence on the pour. And what a fine pour it is! Deep, opaque black with a tight, chocolate-brown head.
The aroma is quite nice, still intense but also showing some pleasant signs of age. Chocolate, dry hops, vinous malt, and light chili.
Tastes absolutely fantastic. Like Bomb! but better. The aging here is perfect. Milk chocolate up front moving into a thicker, maltier middle with firm nodes of red wine and hops, finishing on rougher nodes almost like an intense English porter with chili powder dusting the finish.

T- Roasted malt with chili on the back end.
F- Medium, creamy body. Love the texture.
O- A solid stout, but I didn't pick up a lot of flavors other than the chili.

The color is SRM 29-32 (very dark brown). A modest, creamy, khaki head lingers above, while leaving rings and patches of lace on an Offero glass.
The aroma opens with ample dark chocolate, followed by rich toasted malt. Chili and Cognac characteristics are light but clearly present.
The flavor profile follows the nose with chili heat being more prominent than anticipated, and returning to linger in the finish. Overall, this Stout is rather sweet with bittersweet chocolate, molasses, light charring, a hint of cherry, and a hint of Cognac. Warming brings out nuanced layers of the above flavors, particularly accentuating deep roasted bittersweet chocolate and Cognac.
A dense body prepares one for a chewy, slick velvet texture. Alcohol is warming, yet below the labeled expectations. Carbonation is moderate, allowing sugary residue to collect on the lips.
Liquid Confidential is a superb sipping beer. I enjoyed it while sitting on the deck during a cool summer afternoon. I imagine a creamy brie cheese would elevate the experience.

Got this on a Belgian beer run a while back.
From a 37,5 cl bottle into a snifter
Best Before 10 February 2024
Imperial stout brewed with chilies
APPEARANCE: A clear black pour yields a 2+ finger, creamy, medium looking, light mocha colored head with great retention. Head slowly fades to a full creamy cap leaving lots of lacing on the top of the glass. A black body with medium levels of carbonation. Slight wisp remains and leaves touches of lacing on the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Roasted malts, lots of dark chocolate, sweet cream and chili notes on the nose. Well balanced with some milk chocolate there as well. Bold and well put together.
TASTE: Chilies, milk chocolate and sweet cream up front. Some roasted notes as well, moving into a big and lingering finish of pure chocolate, sweet cream, roasted notes and chilies. Some heat lingers on the palate as well.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Very creamy on the palate, a bit foamy perhaps, goes down smooth and finishes a bit sticky. Some chili heat lingers.
OVERALL: This is good stuff all around. Though the feel is plenty creamy, it might just be a little too foamy for good marks here. Still, this is well put together and the chilies, while certainly playing a leading role, don't completely overwhelm the rest of the show. Check it out if you have the chance.
