Purchased and sampled in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, this one comes in a green 33cl bottle with a long neck and yellow, gold and blue label featuring a five-pointed star above the name in English and Arabic. Ingredients include "caramel." Best before 07/06, I sampled it on Christmas Day 2005.
Pours a clear slightly reddish gold under a 1/2 finger white head that disappears immediately, leaving no lace, collar or any other traces. The nose is bready, with a hint of spice (must be the caramel). The mouth is very prickly and light. There is a slight malt opening, followed by lots of metallic hops. Dry, almost acrid finish, with some oily spice, but mostly metallic. It's a bit harsh, but passable.
