I was delighted to find this on the shelves of the only liquor store I could find in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt. Comes in a green 33cl bottle with a multi-colored label featuring sunrays behind a terraced pyramid above the name in English and Arabic. Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before 04/06 (I think - a bit hard to read), I opened it on 12/22/05.
Now we are talking!!! Pours a clear burgundy under a creamy one finger tan head wiht very good retention and outstanding sheets of creamy lace - lamost like a Nitro product. Nice malt and raspberry syrup nose. The mouth is fairly heavy and sticky, with substantial carbonation. The taste is smooth and fruity malt, slightly acidic to balance the sweet. An ever so slight dry hoppy tone appears in the finish, leaving a hint of espresso. Perhaps a bit heavy on the syrup, but downright enjoyable, and easily the best thing I could find on the Egyptian market.
