Copenhagen 19/5 2019. 50 cl can from Lidl, Lygten, Kbh NV. As "Lidl Festbier". Real bad drawing done in the style you see in real bad comics for pre-teen girls on the label. Beer serving wench to the rescue.

Pours clear, golden yellow with a fairly big white head. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of lumpy foam not able to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is malty, bready and sweetish. Sweet pale malts, grains and with a light sugary touch. Light sourish notes lurking in the background.

Medium strong carbonation. Thin but oily texture. Lively.

Flavor has a fairly strong sweetness followed by a mote moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter-sweet with the sweetness in the dominant position. Has a light bitter edge.

A bit too sweet but decent low-price beer.

just before the review, got this beer in a 950ml can and it came with a litre stein glass, cost a fiver. almost worth giving it five across the boards before even trying it, alas i will review it anyway.

looks: massive bubbly head on the pour but that dissipates to a thin head which remains throughout, beer is a deep chestnut colour.

smell: lot of malt on the nose, biscuity, also a lot of sweetness, some apple smells, some herbal smells, some vanilla, odd smelling frankly

taste: medium strength toasty malty flavours, that apple-y sweetness still quite dominant, just a tad of hop bitterness on the finish.

feel: medium bodied, light to medium carbonation, sticky, warming of the throat which is quite nice.

overall: had this beer not been in a giant can and come with a stein, would i rate it lower ? well, let’s not think about hypotheticals. decent beer anyway.

Canned in a five hundred millilitre can and purchased from Lidl as part of their Oktorfest seasonal promotion
pours a slightly cloudy light brown body with good white head
smells like cheerios
Basically the flavour comes out like a malty strong best bitter, this I quite like but will lager drinkers?
