Pours a pale straw yellow color, with significant foam that fades quickly. Smell is strong with grassy, herbal hops and some grain. Hops is ever present in the flavor, balanced at first by sweet grain. Grain soon fades, leaving an aftertaste that is mildly bitter but smooth. Body is quite light but moderately carbonated, producing a very crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this beer is quite true to the pale lager style, but weakly flavored for my Helles-favoring taste.

I generally like lager/helles better than other types of beer. This one isn't as good as I expected, may be due to the hops and malt that other reviewers have noticed. It goes down ok, but it's a little rough.

500 ml can coded "06.08.2025 EUL P053060524". Sampled on 27.10.2024
$59.99 / 24 can - Costco's Biergarten Collection, Costco, Christiana, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: Labeled at 4.6% ABV. It's poured a clear straw-gold body beneath a thumb's width of white foam. The aroma is surprisingly hoppy for a beer made with hop extract. It's floral, grassy, and herbal over a sweetish and grainy malt base. In checking the label I've also noticed that it's brewed in Mannheim (just north west of Heidelberg), but then canned in Poland. Weird. On to the taste... it's quite grainy, softly sweet, threaded through with plenty of grassy, herbal, and floral hop notes, and balanced by a stiff bitterness that leaves it dry in the finish. What's not to like here? It's certainly not the most refined lager but it's far from poorly done, and much better than a lot of cheap fernsehenbiers. The head retention and lacing could both have been better, and perhaps splashing around in a tanker truck for ten hours or so has taken its toll. It's medium bodied, perhaps on the fuller side, and gently crisp with a median to moderate carbonation. That makes for a nice mouthfeel but probably hurts the head retention a little bit as well. All in all I'm pretty happy with this as an easy-drinking helles lager.

500ml can from Costco's 2024 Holiday Collection. A Best By date of 6 August 2025 is stamped on the bottom of the can.
This is a relatively malty Helles lager,
but I was satisfied with the level of hops and the mild bitterness. As usual for German beer, this is good looking with a white head that lingers over the golden body.

From the half liter can in the 2024 Biergarten Collection from Costco, it pours a clear light golden color with a very nice white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose gets a bit of grass. The mouth gets a smooth pleasant light malt with a modest lightly bitter aftertaste.
