On the label is very little information about the origin or the beer itself. There is not even an ABV on the label! Like a typical Dutchman I just said to myself: Hey, it's not expensive, so buy it!!
Appearance: orange golden, with a nice stable head and enough carbonation.
Smell was typically Weizen; wheat, phenolic with some clove and banana tones.
Taste was wheat, fresh, with a somewhat flowery clovetaste. Aftertaste was dry.
A typical Weizen, nothing bad, but decent. Good beer for the summer, but also for this time of year!

Hazy yellow with a small head and thin lace.
The aroma of light hints of banana and cloves with a touch of corn.
The taste starts off with some mild bitterness and the obvious banana and cloves taste, They are different though, citrus with some malt pop up and the feel is light but the carbonation is high and the balance is off. Strange Hefe.
Notes: Not something I cared for,off base and strange for a German beer. Awful it was not,yet still off for the style.

Bought directly from the Klosterbrauerei in Germany.
A: Cloudy, gold. White head. Looks like a Weissbeer should. Head laces decently and has great retention.
S: Tons of dark fruit - like a Belgian ale, almost like a Dubbel or Tripel. Smells like it'll be cloying.
T: Pretty good, but definitely tastes like a Dubbel. The dark fruit is the most powerful flavor, followed by a bit of a burnt toast undertone. It's amazingly non-cloying. Reminds me of Chimay Red. A little bready. Alcohol is strong, especially for just 5%. Aftertaste diminishes almost immediately after swallowing.
M: Pretty light in the mouth - very dry. Leaves the mouth relatively clean. Non-astringent. Carbonation is good.
D: These really fruity beers never sit too well with my stomach for some reason, so it's not all that drinkable for me. But, still, not a bad beer.

Got this at De Bierkoning in Amsterdam
From a bottle into a Weizen glass
APPEARANCE: Pours a medium sized 2 finger thin white head that dissipates relatively quickly into nothing. You can see the carbonation at the top after a couple minutes. It's orange-gold and has a bit of carbonation. No film, cap, or lacing and looks a little flat almost immediately. Disappointing.
SMELL: Wheat malt, banana and lemon, and some clove evident. A typical weizen nose, but a little weaker than I'd like.
TASTE: Wheat malt, some banana and clove as well, but a hint of orange peel and grapefruit in the background, which is a nice original twist. Different, though still German in style. A mild aftertaste that is sweet at the end.
PALATE: Lighter in body, medium carbonation and goes down smooth and easy like nothing at all. Finishes on the dry side of things.
OVERALL: An average weizen at best; very disappointing in the looks, but it did have an interesting taste profile. It's drinkable enough, but I wasn't itching to get to the next drink. I'd pass on this one.

Hazy orange color, just one finger of foam, a bit scarce for a hefe weizen.
In the smell cloves, some pepper, and green apple.
At the taste alot of lemony. Too much. Light in body, also.
Well, quite strange, thirst-quenching, yes, but quit eunusual.
It is characterized by the lemony, overall.

The actual name of this weissbier is Benediktiner Weizen. It appears as a typical German weiss, but with a little less head, which is about two fingers thick and bright white. The body is orange and caramel in color, and is of course quite hazy.
I detect hints of white pepper and a little banana, with a hint of bubble gum.
The taste is dominated by banana, with sweet finish of bubble gum
This is a good weiss, but not outstanding.

Very nice wheat beer that poured a very nice golden color with virtually no head. Nice carbonation with a medium body that would probably taste a little better in the summer sitting outside in 80 degrees but wasn't bad sitting by the fire while it's on 10 outside. Haven't tried that many German beers but this was very good, not hoppy at all and has a very clean finish.
