Coca cola like color, light. Beige head, with some big bubbles on the sides. Not perfect.
At the smell, caramel, and phenolic tones, quite strong. Something grassy.
Strong caramel in the taste. Again phenolic, maybe a bit too strong.
Uite flat, low body. Lack of personality.
Drinkable, sure, but not too interesting.

After touring the nearby Ettaler Kirche, BierManVA, GenCornwallis and I opted for a bier, or 2, at the Gasthof across the street.
They did DBocks, while I went for a first-time taste of the Dunkelweizen. Came out looking lovely in its appropriate (of course) Ettaler wheat bier glass. Had a lovely mahogany hue, with cloudiness within along with a solid stream of bubbles ripping upwards. Head was frothy and off-white, topping off at a solid 2 inches before ebbing and leaving good stick in the glass. Had a very clovey nose, with wheatiness apparent. Medium-bodied, this DW also had a decently medium feel on the tongue, without being overly prickly. Flavor is also replete with clove, as well as light toffee and some choco. Possesses a dry, slightly bitter finish, though solid and well-made, all-in-all.
Prosit!
