Appearance: massive, fairly dense cream-colored head crowns a hazy medium amber body. Belgian style lacing adorns the glass walls.
Aroma: The aroma is redolent with pumpkin pie spices and sweet alcohol. Ginger, cloves, and cinnamon are particularly notable and a hint of allspice. Spicy warming alcohol comes across gracefully, but is none too subtle and is a ruling undercurrent of the taste. There is also caramel and biscuit from the malt, although substantial, it is a secondary taste with considered against the spices and alcohol. Finishes with a lingering note of spicy alcohol, spices, and dark bread malt.
Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, and full, with soft, delicate carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: Wonderful and very over-the-top.
Presentation: Packaged in a twenty-two ounce brown glass bomber sealed with a pry-off crown. Served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
In Memoriam: Pumpkin (April 1998 - November 22, 2014) - the best cat ever. We will always miss you.

Pours a very cloudy brown color with a finger width foamy head. Head retention and lacing are non-existent. Very spicy pumpkin aroma, but it seems more over the top to the point of having a vitamin medicinal aroma. Strong malty pumpkin taste with cinnamon and clove spicy aftertaste. That vitamin aroma still comes through on the end of the taste, but it is not as pronounced. It is probably the cloves that impart that quality. There is some slight sourness to it at the end. Medium to heavy bodied with mild carbonation.

Dark brown in look,no light passing thru. First taste kinda shocked me. Not sure the pumpkin pie and sour go well together. You pick up the pumpkin pie spices and are then kicked by sourness on the back end. But actually as I sit here drinking it it is starting to grow on me. This really isn't too bad a beer. If I found myself in a bar and this was the only sour, it would do in a pinch
