From the source at Blue Corn Brewery in Santa Fe fresh off the tap. At this point, this beer is less than a week from its debut on taps in NM.
The appearance alone makes this a beer you will want to drink. Amber in color and perfectly clear, plus has a gorgeous two finger head that looks chewy and could easily float a cap. The lacing is abundant and heavily sticky.
The smell is heavily citrus and powerful hop resin. The malt profile is muted but there. This leads into a hop kick with the first sip, yet the hops aren't overwhelmingly bitter. Citrus notes do a great job of disguising the 100+ IBUs and 7.4% alcohol. The alcohol is hardly apparent and the burn produced more by the dry bitter finish.
Overall, the beer is impressively clean, has a beautiful aroma and sips well. The flavor is potent enough to please the big time hop heads, yet is balanced enough to still be quaffable.
A great beer.
