Our 2007 Great American Beer Festival gold medal winner is brewed rich and full-bodied. Roasted malts contribute notes of coffee and chocolate, while English oats lend a full and rounded character.

Had a pint with lunch on 8-24-18 at the Blue Corn Café in downtown Santa Fe for $5.00.
Beer was served black with a nice brown head.
Nose was a nice combination of the roasted malts and coffee.
Taste was that blend of roasty malts and light coffee along with some chocolate. Finish was a bit astringent which was a slight detraction.
Mouthfeel was light to medium bodied and smooth.
Overall this was an enjoyable oatmeal stout. Would recommend to those that enjoy the style.

On-tap at Blue Corn Cafe, Santa Fe, NM
A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a thin tan head that left thick lacing on the surface and the sides of the glass with a narrow collar around the edge.
S: Light aromas of chocolate malts and coffee are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, but also has notes of roasted malts, which stand out in front of the flavors of chocolate malts and coffee beans.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This oatmeal stout has rich flavors of chocolate malts, coffee, and roasted malts. It just seems that it isn't as smooth compared to other beers in the style.
